About Me Briefly

My name is Rabia Şebnem Taruz, I was born in Istanbul in 1985 and completed my university education in this city in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. My interest in visual arts turned into architecture and interior design over time. I reinforced my curiosity in this field with private architectural education and had the opportunity to work in interior decoration and design in various projects.

However, what really impressed me were the old objects bearing the traces of the past. I looked at them not just as objects, but as pieces of life and history. With this passion, I turned to the repair and restoration of antique objects. I received one-on-one training from Istanbul’s most valuable masters and learned this field in depth, both technically and artistically.

Since about 2019, I have repaired and restored over 200 antique items from both Turkey and different countries. I have adopted the principle of working on each piece by preserving the emotion of the owner and the value he attached to the item. This journey is not only a profession for me, but also a great passion.
